Susannah is a 3L and recurring writing fellow. She decided to return as a writing fellow because she enjoyed the editing process and the personal relationships she built while helping students develop their legal writing skills. She focuses on economics and finance and is the grade editor of the GW Business and Finance Law Review. In 2020, Susannah graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor`s degree in political science and minors in economics and sociology. Last summer, she worked as a summer associate at King & Spalding in its Atlanta office. Susannah enjoys trying new restaurants in Washington and learning to play golf in her spare time. Bekah is a 2L from Cedar Falls, Iowa who plans to work in civil litigation after graduation. Her bachelor`s degree is in sociology with minors in women`s and gender studies, Spanish, and religion from the University of Northern Iowa. In addition, Bekah worked as a writing tutor during her studies, where she helped students with quotes, brainstorming, outlines, and refinements of many types of writing.
She enjoys making legal writing less intimidating and building students` confidence in their own drafting processes. While in law school, she articled at the Equitable Housing Institute and will complete a legal internship in the U.C. District Court in the fall of 2022 with the Honorable Rudolph Contreras. When she`s not studying or napping, Bekah enjoys baking cakes and cookies, listening to D&D podcasts, and trying smart projects. Katya is a 2L interested in trademark law, copyright and privacy. She is also editor of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) quarterly journal and participates in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board, the Mock Trial Board, and the Student Bar Association. Prior to law school, she worked after graduating from the University of Utah with a minor in theater in marketing. While she enjoys talking about recent Broadway shows while strolling through a farmer`s market, she`s also passionate about cheering you on through the often frustrating legal writing process. She appreciates cooperation and looks forward to working with you. Rachel is a second-year law student at GW. She graduated from Purdue University majoring in economics and minors in human rights, Chinese and international affairs. She moved from Indiana to Washington DC to study law, with the goal of one day becoming an international human rights lawyer.
She chose to be a writing scholar because she enjoys writing legal writing and meeting new people, and she hopes to be a positive mentor for the upcoming 1L course. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking and watching very bad reality TV. James is a second-year law student in Los Angeles, California. He has a passion for environmental justice and plans to pursue a career in environmental law with a secondary focus on international law and human rights. James earned his bachelor`s degree in political science from Northwestern University and attended the Coro Scholarship in Los Angeles before joining GW. Throughout college, James worked as an academic tutor and found it extremely rewarding. He continued to teach middle and high school students virtually during his time at GW and hopes to build on this experience as a writing fellow. Outside of law school, James enjoys playing tennis, writing and acting, and drumming. The Legal Writing Centre offers support for legal drafting assignments as well as analytical and legal analysis.

Milica loves all forms of writing, whether the final product is an economic research paper, creative fiction or a legal mission. She hopes to share her enthusiasm for legal research and writing with other law students. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, hiking around DC, and spending time with friends.
